Vanessa Hudgens was born on 14 December 1988 at Salinas, California, USA to to Gina Guangco and Greg Hudgens: a Filipina mother and an Irish/American Indian father. Because of her Filipino-American heritage she can be called a “Fil-Am” or a “Pinay” or some may even call Vanessa “Eurasian”. Hudgens’ musical theater roles include leads in: Evita, Carousel, The Wizard of Oz, The King & I, The Music Man, Cinderella, Damn Yankees, The Hunchback of Notre Dam, and The Little Mermaid, among others. Vanessa Hudgens is best known for portraying the role of Gabriella Montez in High School Musical released in 2006. She was the first star from “High School Musical” to release a solo album in the wake of the success of “High School Musical”. The name of her debut solo album is called V which stands for Vanessa, but also could stand for variety since it is a mix of pop, pop rock, dance electronic, and ballads. The album was released in the United States on September 26, 2006 and debuted at #24 on the album charts with 34,000 copies sold during its first week. Singles from Vanessa’s album invclude “Come Back To Me” and “Say OK”.

In February 2007, Vanessa Hudgens is starting out rehearsals for the sequel to High School Musical: “High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing!” She has previously starred in ‘Still Standing’, ‘Robbery Homicide Division’, Thirteen, ‘The Brothers Garcia’, Thunderbirds as Tintin, Quintuplets, ‘Drake & Josh’ and ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ as Corrie. Vanessa Hudgens was part of the High School Musical: The Concert tour, taking place over 40 cities from November 29, 2006 to January 28, 2007.
